Thinking back to the days in Dresden, Germany this past October.  This drypoint is of a man I learned about while there.  The Sacred Science documentary featured Garry Thompson as one of several people suffering from a variety of illnesses who were invited to travel to an Amazon Rainforest to live for 30 days and try to be healed by the medicine men that inhabited the region.  These medicine men were one of many generations that have worked with the indigenous plants there to heal themselves and their people.  The "patients" were each given their own hut to live in to be able to find the quiet needed to really focus on themselves and why they were there, leaving distractions of everyday life behind.

My studies in the studio the day prior to finding the documentary were all about the three main plants, corn, cotton and pine tress that help provide food, fiber and shelter for us.  The research led me to issues of biodiversity in our forests and the great importance of preserving the plants and trees in their natural habitat.  It was one of many synchronicities for me during the trip.
